The Town of Karlovo was host to a group of Mayors from all over Bulgaria protesting to ensure that the little Towns and Villages across the Country were demanding tat the law was changed to ensure that as representatives of their people their areas would recieve the money they where entitled to from the big municipalities
Local Mayors all over Bulgaria gathered again in the town of Kalofer for a silent protest.
The protesting Mayors would like to see financial independence from the large town council who control what money they get and when the silent protest took place in the town of Kalofer one mayor said they only want the money they are entitled to for the areas they live in.
The local mayors said that although municipal councils voted their budgets, money rarely comes in to the local villages and they would like this to change to ensure that their village are treated the same way as the larger towns and villages in Bulgaria why should we have to live with less services just because we live in a smaller settlement than those living in the bigger towns and villages
Mayors gave the state one month to prepare changes to the laws. So far this has not happened, so a mass protest is under preparation under the windows of the Council of Ministers on Saturday
